Hearing and speaking are distinct CRA categories. The effects on the relevant everyday functions and medical certification are assessed.
There is more to the review
The duration, frequency and degree of restriction are important. Where the marked restriction criteria apply, the CRA generally considers inability or taking three times longer to do the activity, all or almost all of the time, with restrictions lasting or expected to last at least 12 continuous months. Specific rules vary by category.
