The Maple Leaf: Our Shared Journey
On National Flag of Canada Day, we pause to celebrate more than just a piece of fabric. Since it was first raised over Parliament Hill in 1965, the Maple Leaf has stood as a powerful symbol of unity and resilience for families from coast to coast.
Whether it’s flying over a local school, a community centre or a family home, our flag represents the diverse stories that weave together to form the fabric of our country.
Today is an opportunity to reflect on the values that define us: compassion, perseverance, and a deep sense of community. As we look at the red and white, we are reminded that our greatest strength lies in our connection to one another.
“The Maple Leaf on our flag has 11 points. This specific design was chosen after rigorous testing in a wind tunnel to ensure it remained clearly visible and recognizable even in high winds!”
Happy National Flag of Canada Day!
